In accordance with the requirements of "Urban planning, development and construction of urban and rural settlements", the width of the pedestrian crossing from the street traffic section should be at least 4 meters.

- On sidewalks adjacent to red lines, the possibility of passing a traffic lane is 700 pedestrians/hour.
- 1,200 pedestrians/hour at one-level pedestrian crossing of the street.
- In the underground pedestrian passage - 1500 pedestrians/hour is accepted.

The longitudinal slope of sidewalks can be no more than 60% when the length of their sloping part does not exceed 30 m, and no more than 80% in mountain conditions. Construction of stairs should be considered on large slopes and when they are long.
